I know Echani are traditionally big on light to no armor and such in combat, but I was wondering if the Echani would have an opinion on cybernetics/adrenals in combat. The reason I wonder is because I read in some thread that they focus on using the natural body as a weapon, so maybe they forbid or just look down upon the use of stims, cybernetics, or maybe even immuno-boosters when dealing with sicknesses? Thanks.

In a duel, most Echani would of course prefer as little clothes/armor as possible. But despite this, Echani aren't stupid. You're not gonna have less honor for having to replace lost body parts, and in wartime you need every advantage possible.

In a duel I suppose both combatants could agree to the use of stims, but do keep in mind that Echani use combat to learn about each other, and the use of stims can give someone advantages that they wouldn't normally have, screwing up the natural processing of another Echani. And yet Vilinde almost always has on her Echani HUD, which gives her a wonderful advantage. In an actual battle there are few people that would pause before the start to speak terms, and fewer who would honor it, so yeah, i'd imagine most anything goes at that point.

In regards to sickness... I figure they're just like humans. Some Echani will be like, 'Of course i'll use medicine and take my shots, it's what they're made for, right?' and yet you'll still have those people who, using a rough and half-joking example here, believe that their god will cure them, and condone the use of modern medicine.

Hope that helped!

Adding my two cents in here: Echani place an emphasis on the purity of movement, not the purity of the body. Light armor is a result of their wish to remain agile.

Cybernetics of any sort wouldn't be looked down upon, but I would give you caution. [MID-RANT RANT] Ever played Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Cybernetic limbs aren't something that you just get up and go with. If your character is getting an IC-ly played out limb, keep in mind that you can't turn off the augmented strength you just got, and you'll have to learn to control it. Fine motor skill jobs like clock-building or sculpture would be highly recommended as a way to learn to control the strength you just received.[/MID-RANT RANT]

As far as stims go? They're used to enhance combat prowess or ease pain, and I would think for the most part Echani have no issue with them, except perhaps in a straight up one-on-one duel. Even then, Stims don't provide any exceedingly glaring advantage other than increased awareness....Which in every Echani is innate.
