White.

That's all Xirad saw when his eyes burst open.

He could only remember opening a door, being punched in the face by a man in wampa armor... and that was it.

Not that it mattered, now.

Where was he?

He looked around, getting up slowly. The pain in his abdomen had seemingly withdrawn. The sterile room was small, filled solely with his little white cot. Xirad brushed a longer strand of hair from his face, now standing up completely.

He stopped.

His hair wasn't long.

He ran a hand through his hair.

It was long.

Xirad walked to the door leading out of the room and opened it.

Rex, now with a frame of mechanical legs on top of his own in order to help him walk, walked into Chrysa’s dim, grimy room. He shut the door behind him, careful to make sure that the crazy Twi’lek doctor - in addition to anybody else - didn’t see him. He turned to Chrysa’s dark red form clad only in her undergarments; her bare skin stood in stark contrast to the rough, dirty blankets of the bed she lay on. She sat up slightly, pulling the covers around her. Molten-gold eyes shone as she looked at him, a smile forming on her face. “Rex… how’d you sleep? How are your new legs?”

He smiled back at her; his blonde roots were already beginning to show underneath his black dyed hair. “I slept alright. A little lonely, but alright.” He sat down next to her. “The legs are…. Alright. Can’t wait to take them off…” the man chuckled slightly.

She smirked back to him. “One step at a time, love. One step at a time.” Her smirk faded slightly as she saw him flinch at the ‘L’ word. “Well, in any case… do you have a plan yet, Rex?”

There were a few moments of silence before he answered. “I can’t get anybody else involved in this mess. It’s too dangerous. I already feel bad about dragging you into this…” his voice trailed off momentarily before he continued. “Especially if what you say is true.” His sea-blue eyes looked at her. “I’ve got a few favors to call in on where we might find her. Are you absolutely sure you don’t have an idea where she could be?”

The Pureblood shook her head. “No… the majority of her resources were destroyed when the Eternal Empire invaded. If she had anywhere else to be, I wouldn’t know about it, or she might have gotten new lairs after I cut ties with her.”

Rex stroked his scruffy chin, staring off into space. “So... You were an spy from a Sith warlord scientist, huh? Kojasta, wasn’t that her name?” He looked back at her. “And you still can’t remember why she sent you to watch me?”

The Sith gave a sad sigh. “Rex… it’s not that easy. Once I realized what a good person you are… when you taught me that I can forge my own path…. I cut ties with her. I fell in lo- I mean, I realized that I didn’t have to be her slave.” She gently set her hand down on his leg. “Kojasta never told me why I was sent to spy on you. I assumed it was to make sure you didn’t disrupt her operations… but I don’t know.” She gave him a gentle squeeze.

His jaw visibly clenched at the squeeze. For a few moments, silence, then he put his own hand on top of hers. “It’s okay. Thanks for telling me, Chrysa; I can’t imagine how hard that was.” His eyes visibly softened as he looked at her. “And, I do have a plan. But… it’ll be hard.”

Chrysa looked up at him, her eyes shining even brighter now. “I’ll follow you anywhere, captain.”

(( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsvuipGq2ns Because Stranger Things pulled off this song/cover so perfectly))

I'm flying, again.

Just like I used to dream about.

I can't hear anything.

But, I can see all of Coruscant, below me.

I can see my parents, waving up at me.

I can see my childhood friends, all grown up, waving at me.

I told them I'd be a hero, one day.

I can see the girl I thought I loved, just before I left to go provide service to the poor.

She's waving up at me; I can see the admiration in her eyes.

I told her, too, that I'd be a hero.

And suddenly I'm flying on Hutta.

I can see all the people I had tried to help.

The Evocii people.

I can see them pointing up at me.

They told me I was a hero to them.

I can the family that took me in when I first got sick.

I can see the crops helped plant for them, growing, a patch of beauty in the muck of Hutta's chemical swamps.

I can see Coruscant again.

I'm flying near my old hospital room.

I can see the doctors, frowning at me.

They're gesturing for me to stop flying.

I can see the girl again.

She just shakes her head and walks away.

I can see my old neighbors.

They all have some look of shame on their faces.

I can see Rex.

He looks up.

He just shakes his head at me.

My parents appear.

Their faces are emotionless.

I'm starting to fall from my flight.

I land in the Military Recruitment office.

I'm walking through the Boot Camp grounds.

Other mud covered troops spits at my feet.

I feel myself being pulled down into the ground.

I'm suddenly walking through the observation room of Outpost Zeta.

I watch as everybody around me is shot down.

I relive the execution of the people that had survived.

The man with the Wampa Armor seems to walk right through me.

I'm in the bed of my hospital room.

I can feel the bed sucking me in.

The doctors smile down at me.

My vision is closed off as I'm almost completely engulfed by the bed.

Then the Mirialan walks in.

Neria.

I feel the bed releasing its grip on me.

I'm in the speeder with Neria and Oninia.

I can feel that the concern on their faces is for me.

I'm hovering in my seat.

I'm suddenly in an alley on Nar Shaddaa.

I see Rex.

My brother.

He's looking for me.

I'm flying again.

He doesn't see me.

I try flying down, yelling out to get his attention.

No sound of any kind leaves my mouth.

I'm drifting further away.

I watch as the alley collapses on him.

I can feel myself being sucked up, into the sky.

I'm desperately struggling to go down, to go help him.

I turn my head to see what's pulling me up.

I see a bright white light.

I'm pulled into the white light.

"A group of assassins, mercenaries, and bounty hunters walk into a bar. What does the bartender say?!"

...

...

"Your guy is in the corner!"

...

...

Smack.

The idiot red head smuggler was immediately thrown from the stage- that is, after getting a good beating for how terrible his joke was.

The smoky room of the Crazed Cocoon Cantina was filled with tables of the people the idiot of a comedian had mentioned in his joke: assassins, mercenaries, and bounty hunters. Some were playing Sabaac and other card games at their tables, others were idly chatting, and others more were watching and listening to the stand up comedy acts of the night. One thing was in common with the whole group, though: they were all armed and dangerous. In the corner was another small area with dancers on their poles, humans and aliens, males and females.

Rex and Chrysa walked in, looking around and literally breathing in the scene. The Pureblood had a frown on her face as she turned to her captain. "Rex... why are we here, again?"

The once blond man gave her a wink and smile, but something in his eyes was dark and serious. "You know why. It's time to figure out the next person who ratted us out and got us into this mess." His voice, even, sounded serious. Rex motioned forward, and they walked up to around the middle of the area.

Just as they sat down, the next act walked on stage; a dark green Twi'lek with a very large forehead. "So, folks, let me tell you a story... I was passin' through the Republic fleet one time, and..." His voice was drowned out as Rex patted Chrysa on the leg, under the table.

"Start looking for him. Now."

They both scanned the room, back and forth, back and forth. Rex's blue eyes shone intently in the dark... there's a weequay... there's a rodian... a Ithorian...

"Hey, you! Pretty Sith lady! Yes, you!" Rex looked up as the stage's spotlight shone on his spot with Chrysa; the red skinned woman had an agitated look on her face, golden eyes full of anger. "Ah, come on, get up here! I need you for my next joke! I promise, lady, if it's not funny, you get to vaporize me!" She gave Rex a look, and he nodded to her; she got up from her seat, and began walking up to the stage. "Very good, very nice! Thanks a bunch for lettin' us have ya girl for a minute, pal! Anywho, for the rest of the joke..." Rex started looking around the room again, scanning, scanning...

There.

A dark-skinned human with white hair was moving very hurriedly from the dancing area of the cantina.

Rex stood up, hurriedly making his way to him. His target looked over and saw him, dark eyes going wide in fear. They both started running.

The human looked like he was just about to escape - but was suddenly shot with a stun blast by a passing by mercenary who was just walking in. Rex ran up to them, fear on his face; the look was quickly replaced with relief. "Oh, Milo! It's you!"

The merc gave him a nod. "Rex. Thought I'd do you a favor; half the people in this place owe you one, buddy." He walked on into the bar with out another word. Rex looked over his shoulder, just as Chrysa happened to kick the Twi'lek in the groin. Apparently this was more funny than the joke itself, because it wasn't until then that the audience laughed again. Golden eyes caught his blue ones, even from across the bar, and they nodded to each other.

"Welcome home, Xirad."

(Queue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loNU367GnXQ&index=15&list=PLsa4SxpfFe_q8QcwjC3kru7fW9y8U0Rm1 ))

The young blond man looked around himself in this new room; in the very center stood a woman with tanned skin, dark black hair, bright green eyes... one side of her face was heavily scarred, but it did little to mar her beautiful features. She wore grey robes, her dark figure standing in stark contrast to the bright whiteness that seemed to overpower everything and give off a sense of purity, of cleanliness. The room itself was large in size, with eight white pillars forming a large circle halfway into the room. Between each pillar was a door, leading off to the rest of... wherever Xirad was.

"I've been waiting for you for a very long time, my dear." Her thick Imperial accent was hard to mistake. "Your brothers and sisters have missed you, dearly..."

He was suddenly aware of his clothes; he wore simple white robes, so light that they felt like nothing. He looked back up at her, then all around him. "Where am I... what is this?"

She took a tentative step toward him, a warm smile on her face. "I told you; you are home!" The woman spread her arms wide, gesturing around the room and then towards herself. Her whole demeanor was one of warm, welcoming invitation.

Xirad clenched his jaw, but then relaxed it slightly. "Maybe I should rephrase... where is home? Who are *you*?" He took a tentative step of his own to her.

"Well, that is hard to describe... home is constantly changing locations! We are in my personal travelling space station. As for who I am... well..." She bowed her head slightly to him. "I am your Creator."

"My... Creator?"

"Yes. Come! Allow me to show you." She extended her arm to him; he stared at it silently for a few moments, then nodded, accepting it and allowing her to lead him through one of the eight doors of the room. The next space they entered was a gigantic room; the entirety of one of its walls was a viewport into the vastness of space; distant stars glimmered in the dark, echoes of memories light years away. The door they entered from kept the view to their left, but on their right was a grand staircase; there were golden colored trees lining the walkways. Halfway up the staircase was a veranda, with dozens of people idly sitting and chatting on golden colored couches. Some of them smiled and waved down at Xirad and the mysterious woman. "Xirad... these is your family."

"My family? What about Rex, my parents? What about those people I was with before I was here...." His eyes went wide. "How did I get here?!"

She laughed softly, as if his confusion was similar to that of a small child learning a new concept for the first time. "Rex will be here soon; as for your new friends, they are waiting for you in another room."

"Now... allow me to explain this all to you..."

“It’s been a long day, pal.”
Smack.
“So I’m going to ask you one more time: how do I find the people that attacked me?”
Smack.

Rex and Chrysa both stood in a big, sparsely lit warehouse. In the center of it was a dark skinned human with white hair; his grey shirt was torn around his body. The man had a rope tied around both hands leading up to the ceiling that kept him propped up. His back was covered with whip marks, his skin glistening with blood that had oozed out of being hit so much all over his body. Even the man’s face was a bloody pulp, one of his eyes swollen completely shut.

A thick, dark wad of blood clot fell from his mouth. “I… I… Rex… I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. I wish I… UNGH.” He coughed up some more blood and groaned, shaking his head. “Please… Rex… this, this, this isn’t you… you’re the nicest man in the galaxy…”

The man’s pleading was only met by a back handed slap from Chrysa; she had a snarl on her face, and she raised her hand again to hit him. “You be quiet, you pathetic, whimpering, qui-”

She was caught off as Rex caught her wrist and gave her a warning look. “Stop.” The Pureblood Sith sighed and nodded to him, relenting very visibly with a sag of the shoulders. The now black haired man, now, walked up to the torture victim and gently grabbed his jaw, holding his head up to look at him. “If you’re sorry, then tell me. That’s all you need to do. Then we’ll let you go. I promise I won’t kill you.” By now, the blond roots of his hair were visible beneath the mess of long black curls that adorned his scalp. There was a shadow in his eye, a dark fire that burned not of the passion previously known to him, but an unyielding rage.

The white haired man whimpered a bit. “I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry…” He inhaled a few deep, shuddering breaths before nodding weakly. “Okay… they’re going to kill me for telling you. But I can’t live like this anymore… I ca-can’t…” He broke off into tears, his good eye streaming continuously.

“Hey, hey… it’s okay. It’s okay. I’m going to stop them. They won’t kill you.” Rex gave him a reassuring smile, yet the look in his eyes still lingered.

“O-o-okay… okay…” He took in another gasp of air, and then continued. “I was contacted last year by…” he coughed up some more blood. “...by an independent mercenary group. One part Imperial, one part… just their own thing. Ya know?” He cleared his throat a bit. “They’re…. They’re the real deal. Straight black ops terrorists. They’ve got a few hundred confirmed kills, and there are only EIGHT of them. Empire sends them in when they don’t want any connections to Imperial space at all…” He shuddered a bit. “They’ve got two leaders; one is the Imperial contractor, he’s in charge of making sure they stay in control and do hits on the right people. His name is Abaddon. He’s supposed to be a Darth, but…” He took in another gulp of breath. “And the other? His name is Sol-”

His head exploded in a thick mist of blood and gore. Rex’s eyes went wide, and he turned around. There was a large hole in the wall meaning it had to be a bullet and not a normal blaster shot, angled so that whoever just took that shot had just arched it over his head. The smuggler nodded to Chrysa, and they both ducked for cover. Another shot rang out, close enough to Rex’s face that he could feel the rush of friction of the bullet passing by. They had set up two large, thick crates of cover just for this situation, and the pair ducked behind them.

The opposite door of the warehouse swung open, and a lumbering man in bulky black armor walked in with a massive blaster in his hands. “HEEEEY, REXY! I’M HERE TO FINISH THE JOB!” One shot rang out, followed by another, and soon the rate at which the blaster shot at them behind their cover increased, its spread wide enough that it was basically impossible for the pair of them to jump from behind their cover. Rex nodded to Chrysa, and she nodded back; from her belt she pulled out a thermal detonator, which she swung over the crate towards their attacker. “OH, BOY OH BOY!” The shots were cut short for a quick second before a resounding BOOM, followed by more silence. Rex peaked around the opposite side of his cover; their attacker was on his knees, having stumbled back from the blast. The foe noticed the little peak, and he struggled to his feet, only to fall back down as Chrysa and Rex both shot his knees in time, causing him to fall onto his back with a *thunk*.

Rex ran over to him, hastily dragging the helmet of of the man’s head and then pistol whipping the crown of his skull, knocking him out. “We’ve still got a sniper on us; take care of him.” Chrysa gave him a reassuring nod; she ran over to one of the crates they had hidden behind - just narrowly avoiding a bullet that burrowed into the floor where she had just been standing - and flipped it open; she pulled out a ridiculously oversized rocket launcher, which she hefted and instantly shot out the door where the sniper was coming from. They heard an audible curse word, followed by an explosion; the Pureblood hurried and reloaded, shooting another shot toward where the sniper had been.

When they were both satisfied with their results, Rex had a tired smile on his face. “Let’s get some real answers.”

"How old do you think you are, Xirad?"

The blond hesitated, if only for a moment; a brow, before thick and bushy, now trimmed and neat, raised. "Twen-"

A suppressed giggle managed to slip between the scarred woman's lips. She cleared her throat and shook her head; she leaned forward in her white chair to pat his knee. "Forgive me; it was a trick question. Would you like the truth?"

He grit his teeth. "Yes. Sure. I just... sure."

She tilted her head and him and smiled; she leaned forward towards him, her right hand raising so that her thumb rested in the exact center of his forehead and her palm grasped his scalp. "See, now, Lord Apollyon."

Xirad's eyes rolled to the back of his head; he saw only stars, the cosmos, thousands of lights rushing and flying by around him. And then he heard the woman's voice.

"The vessel that acts now as your body is young, but your spirit is old. You think yourself to be 'Xirad'; you think yourself to be but a simple man. But, behold; your spirit is a shard of the soul of Apollyon, Lord of the Dark."

His vision zeroed in on a planet; it was blue and green. Xirad had seen it before; Tython.

He saw a warrior; a man of great stature, bearing dark armor. His black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and his black beard was cut close to his face. A great sword was raised in his hand.

"You were so powerful..."

The warrior cut down throngs of enemies; Xirad saw him next sitting on a great throne, with groups of people bowing down before him.

"But you were betrayed..."

Two women and a man stabbed him through the back with different blades. They each raised their hands, uttering words in curse against him. With anguish on his face, he slammed his hands together; all four of them fell in unison.

"Apollyon's spirit was split, shattered to the winds of the galaxy, and the spirits of the betrayers were scattered as well..."

Xirad's eyes returned to normal, and with a great gasp of air he saw what was in front of him. The woman pulled her hand away from his head, smiling at the blond and sitting back in her chair. He trembled, shaking his head at her. "No, no, no..."

"You are one of shards of Apollyon's being; you are his temperament, his balance."

________________________________________________________________

"I'm gonna avenge you, Xirad... little brother." Rex's dirty, mixed hair was tucked back behind his ears; he input the coordinates of their destination, looking at Chrysa with a wicked smile.

________________________________________________________________

"Your 'brother', the one you call Rex; he is his passion..."

________________________________________________________________

A heavy, fur lined gauntlet slowly slid onto the lean, muscly hand of Solljus. He clenches his hands, the crack of his knuckles audible even from underneath the armor that covered them.

________________________________________________________________

"The man that attacked you, named Solljus, is Apollyon's rage..."

________________________________________________________________

Oninia, with her platinum blonde hair now handing loosely around her shoulders, was clothed in a white dress. She lay in a bed with straps holding her down.

________________________________________________________________

"The one you call Oninia? She is the spirit of Apollyon's lover, Ilrawen, one of the betrayers."

________________________________________________________________

Neria sat in a cell; her clothes were tattered, her face and arms scratched heavily. Her head hung low...

________________________________________________________________

"And finally, the Mirialan is the spirit of Ångra, another of the betrayers." She rubbed her hands together and wiggled in her seat. "We have yet to find the final three aspects of our Lord Apollyon, as well as the spirit of the final traitor. But we are well on our way; and, once we have you all together... we will bring you back to your full power!" She beamed.

Xirad trembled, still.

Xirad shook only for a sliver of a moment longer before he clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes at her. "This is insane. Whoever you are, whatever you believe in? That's just ridiculous. This is ludicrous."

She tilted her head. "Oh?"

He pointed his finger at her. "You're just a sick leader of a twisted cult. Damn you to whatever hell there is in this universe; you've ruined my life and the lives of who knows how many people."

Her lips turned into a frown, her brows furrowing along with them; she rested a hand on his knee. "Apo-"

The blond shoved her away, his face contorted into a snarl. "Don't you dare touch me; don't you-"

His retort was cut short; a gigantic, crushing wave of anguish washed over him. Xirad's breath was cut short and he doubled over; the feeling radiated off of her. The woman knelt down in front of him and cupped his cheek. "You are not alone, Apollyon. I am Kojasta." The pain was overwhelming to the point that he collapsed to the ground; she sat down, cradling his head in her arms.

"I, too, am a soul linked to yours; mine is that of your wife." A single tear of hers fell from her face and landed on his. "Do you remember? I was more than a lover; we were love incarnate. Our souls are forever intertwined, destined to be together even from across the cosmos." She leaned down and kissed him.

The pain was replaced by something more shocking than anything else; memory.

Two humans, one man, one woman; a dark King and a shadowy Queen at his side.

"I have searched for you for so long... I let my soul pass from body to body through my own choice. Searching for you. Longing for you."

Xirad felt tears of his own stream down his cheek.

"You are the catalyst of this all... if there is any fragment of you that is closest to the whole, it is you..." she stroked his hair and closed her eyes in a smile. "When I found you, this piece of you, it pained me to the upmost to have to wait to gather all of the shards together... and now?"

The blond man was filled with utter chaos.

"It is almost time."

Rex took a long, deep breath. His hair, now cut so that there was no longer any dyed black in it, was still long enough that he had a few strands and curls hanging loosely in his face. He had shaven as well; despite both of these facts, his face looked dirty. Gritty.

"Thank you all for coming. I'm grateful you all have heard this out so far. Although, I'm sure some of you are questioning who exactly these people are." He looked around at those gathered; it was a group of some odd hundred people. Friends, acquaintances, colleagues; there were even a few Jedi. Some of the people gathered seemed... disconcerted.

"Yeah, we get that it's some crazy Sith cult, but who? How many? How are they this strong?" A gruff Twi'lek was the one who had spoken.

"That's a good question, Rayu. And to be completely honest? I don't know. I don't know it all. But they aren't very many. They only make a few select people do their dirty work. As for where they get their money... well, I guess that just comes with your cult being a few thousand years old."

Rex took a deep breath. A deep, long breath. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, waiting several seconds before finally, slowly exhaling.

((Queue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXmaNjuwdd8 ))

“Friends, I am calling you all here for no small reason. I am so sorry for just going underground for so long and not contacting anybody. I didn’t want to endanger anybody until I understood the scope of things going on, of who was going after me. You know I would only ask for your help if I truly needed it, if I was truly desperate. I know that, despite my best intentions to get to know you, some of you know little about me, and yet we are still friends. I know that I have spoken little about myself, my past, my family, but…” He sighed. “I need you. I am calling in every favor owed to me, every promise of help made to me. This… this is something scary. This is something dark. This is something I couldn’t possibly face alone. But.”

He looked around at everybody. “This is something bigger than even me, than even just my family. The man I interrogated said that this cult… they plan on doing something big. Something that’ll kill millions. And I cannot, I will not, stand by and wait for that to happen. I know each of you has struggled in the past; none of us here is perfect. Nobody here is spotless, is completely innocent of any bad deed in the past. I know that not all of you care for being a hero, not all of you care for helping others out.”

The blond paused momentarily, looking down at the ground as if searching for words before finally continuing, “But I need your help. My brother needs your help. These people need to be stopped. I can’t claim to know everything, I cannot claim to be a wise man, but I do know this: The Force has guided me, has guided each of you, so that we could know each other. I know without a doubt that I have a responsibility and that each of you has a responsibility to stop them. We don’t know their names; we don’t know how powerful they are exactly, how many there are. But we do know this: those bastards need to be stopped. So, who’s with me?!”

An elegant looking space station floated in space. It had a large central part to it, with the bottom half of it tapering off into a cone. The central section then had three round, curved parts to it that lifted up and away from it, each one large enough to have two medium sized hangers within them.

Kojasta stood staring out a viewport; her view cast a shadow on the scarred side of her face, the other, unmarred half a beautiful model bared to the light.

(( Queue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I ))

A single freighter dropped out of hyperspace a few hundred kilometers away from the space station to her view.
Then another.
And another.
More,
more.

The Sith closed her eyes, smiling, and taking in a deep breath. "They're home." She turned around, her white teeth shown in a wide grin. The scars on her face turned white in some places from the pressure of being scrunched in smile. "Scramble our defenses! I can sense He is here. I will tell you which ships you are not allowed to destroy." There was a sparkle in her bright green eyes.

________________________________________________________________

Rex sat in a fighter; he wore a headset, connecting him to the other ships in the fleet. It rose lazily out of the back of a large freighter, although it had room for only two other fighters in it. "Form up on me, Gold squadron; let's do this."

________________________________________________________________

The hanger bays of the station opened; dozens and dozens of fighters flew out of them.

The attacking fleet slowly pushed towards the station. There were a few moments of peace;
only pushing,
pushing,

Fighters swerved and avoided, freighters turned to their sides to get betters angles for absorbing damage and taking better shots.

Bodies, bent steel and mechanical fluids shot out of destroyed fighters, floating in space.

With in a few minutes, most of the defending fleet was destroyed.
